studio policies

• In the event of inclement weather, a studio-wide email will be sent along with an announcement on Facebook and Instagram to inform you if classes have been cancelled. 
• The studio does NOT follow the public school cancellation calendar or snow cancellation policy
• There will be no adjustment to tuition due to snow days or natural disasters.
• If there are two or more absences on one day due to snow or natural disaster the class will be made up over April vacation week. 

• RDA is closed during school vacations and many major holidays. Please refer to the calendar and events menu on our website for updated dates. 
• If any class has more than one cancellation due to inclement weather it will be made up during April vacation.

If a student misses class frequently (especially nearer to recital season), a meeting may be requested with a parent to discuss the need to schedule private lessons (additional fee) to get a student caught up. Frequent absences impact the entire class, therefore regular attendance in your child's own class is very important. We do understand that life happens and you are free to discuss with Miss Jill any issues you have. 

Students may withdraw from class at any time. In order to withdraw from a class, we simply ask that an email is sent to ReflectionsDanceAcademyMa@gmail.com before the 1st of the following month in order to avoid the next tuition fee. Refunds will not be given for the current month. 

Female and female-identifying students:

• For all classes: Leotard (any color), tights, and proper dance shoes, hair tied back
• Ballet: may wear a skirt or shorts over leotard
• Jazz, Tap, Musical Theatre & Contemporary: may wear a skirt, shorts or leggings and a t-shirt or tank (not oversized) with their leotard. Baggy clothing will not be permitted. 
• Hip Hop: may wear looser fitting clothing over their leotard providing it does not hinder their ability to dance
• Dance Company: must wear all black to their company class as well as adhere to the standards above

Male and male identifying students:

• For all classes: athletic shorts or pants, t-shirt, and proper dance shoes
• Dance Company: must wear all black to their company class as well as adhere to the standards listed above

Non-binary dancers may choose which dress code to follow

Combo Classes:

• Tap - Black Capezio Tyette tap shoe N625C
• Ballet - Pink ballet slippers
• Jazz - Black slide-on jazz shoes 

*Jazz shoes necessary for Kindergarten/1st Grade only (PS Combo will wear ballet shoes for jazz technique)

Tap:

• Level 1 - Black Boch or Capezio full sole oxford style tie up or slide on tap shoe
• Level 2 - Black Bloch split sole slide on tap shoe

Jazz:

• All levels - Tan Bloch or Capezio split sole slide on jazz shoes

Ballet:

• Level 1 - Pink ballet slippers
• Level 2 and up - Capezio Hanamie ballet shoe in light pink

Musical Theatre:

• All levels - Tan Bloch or Capezio split sole slide on jazz shoes

Contemporary: 

• All levels - Capezio Hanamie Pirouette in Nude

Hip Hop: 

• Level 1 - Black and white low cut converse sneakers (to be worn only for class and not recreationally)
• Level 2 and 3 - Black and white high top converse sneakers (to be worn only for class not recreationally)
• Level 4 - Nike Court Borough Mid (White)
